Faith is the key to defeating all that comes against you. In order for the hand of God to work miracles in your life, you must believe that he is able. Your trials have no power over you except for what you allow. For that reason, you must never let the fear of any painful situation in your life become bigger than your God.
The bible tells us that Jesus came to set the captives free. We who were once in bondage to the evil of this world now have the power over darkness. The death and resurrection of Christ gave us the victory over anything that seeks to destroy us. He paid the price for us to live life abundantly despite what we have to endure. He became our strength to conquer all of our enemies. He has put death and destruction under his feet. Those who have a relationship with Jesus have nothing to fear from this world. He alone is the hope for all that you need and he will not fail you.
In Matthew 15, we read about how the Apostles were in a boat on the water that was being tossed around by the wind and the waves. During the night, Jesus came to them walking on the water and they became afraid. Peter asked Jesus to let him come to him on the water and Jesus said, “Come”. Peter began to walk on the water but when he saw the strong wind and the high waves he was afraid and began to sink. He cried out to Jesus who lifted him from the water and said, “Why did you doubt?”.
The truth of this matter is that it was not the wind or the waves that brought Peter down, it was his fear! Instead of keeping his eyes on his Creator who could save him from all things, Peter instead empowered the wind and the waves. He feared that he would perish even though the Master of the universe was right there with him. Jesus is over all that is in this world and even the wind must obey him. With just a word, Jesus was able to quiet the storm.
Even now, there is never a situation that Jesus can’t take you through if your trust is in him. With just his word, he can give you peace in the trial that you are enduring. The power of the blood of Christ is able to meet you wherever you are. It is not based on your good works but on his mercy. It does not matter what you have done or how far you have strayed, his love is able to reach out lift you from the waters of trouble and bring you to safety. Jesus is always willing to forgive and give you a future that has promise. For a believer, the strength to live in victory is always with you because Christ lives in you. He alone can defeat your serious health issues, family problems, financial difficulties or any addictions and pain you may have. Jesus alone has the power to heal your broken marriage and restore your family. That is your heritage as a child of the living God! Nothing is impossible for him who spoke this world into existence.
If you are feeling weary from the battle you are in, lift your eyes to Jesus who is the source of all strength. He will not leave you alone and his plan for you will never fail. The enemy has been defeated by the cross and his power has been destroyed.
Trust this day that God is able to keep you on top of the water despite what trouble comes against you. It is my hope that you understand that no matter what you are going through, God has people praying for you right now. You are never alone and your situation is never impossible for the true God whose love will never fail you..

Always remember that God has a perfect plan for your life that was ordained before you were born. The feet of the righteous are always guided by him. The winds of this world cannot move you from the rock that he has set you on. When you remind yourself of the truth that is in God’s word, you know because you know that his plan for you will be unveiled at the right time. You just need to take your stand in belief and wait. God bless you and the ministry he has for you.

great blog, Marianne. the story of Peter and the LORD walking on water is a classic and a true test of faith. i know that i have had my times of trust and faith and have failed. thankfully i did not get too caught up into my own failures and false humility b/c it would have depleted my faith completely. but i learned in james 1:2 that it is important to allow our trials to build something special that the LORD is trying to accomplish within us. and as your article is about, it asllowed me to understand how powerful my faith in him is and that most people will never come to that faith. ohhh, how special that faith is- thanks again for your words of truth.

Hi j.d., you are so right to quote James 1:2 for that is the whole point. God only allows trials in the lives of believers when he has someothing to accomplish in them. Nothing happens to you for nothing! There is always a reason. Right now in my life, I have some struggles and pain that want to take me under. But I have purposed in my heart to keep my eyes on Christ so that I can continue to stand ON the water. I refuse to let the winds and waves of trouble make me doubt that Jesus is in complete control of what I am going through.
I appreciate you stopping by and your words of encouragement. In that area, you are so gifted!!

Am very glad I found these words. You see, when peter doubted,Jesus didnt leave him because he doubted, he was there waiting for him to aknowledge his power.
Peter realised he had no one to help him but Jesus,he called to Jesus for help. Our lord did not hesitate but saved him there and then.
I love Peter coz he never gave up but trusted Jesus even when he was sinking. Am encouraged because this message has made me realise that even in the midst of my problems Jesus is right there with me and all i need is call him as Peter did.
God bless you and your family. It is a wonderful and powerful message.

Hi Rebecca, so glad you stopped by again and let God’s word encourage you. Isn’t it wonderful that despite our weaknesses and our struggles, God is still Sovereign and he can still do all things to bring us to safety. He knows what we need and how to give it to us. Yes, Peter did call out to Jesus when he was sinking because he finally understood that the God who got him up on the water was also the one who could KEEP him on top of the water. The same is true for you. The enemy may make you feel like you are drowning in tears and that your struggles will take you down. The truth is that Christ is more than enough to get you through all that comes against you and that if you belong to him, you can NEVER be destroyed. He is always with you. Not a thousand miles up in the sky, but right next to you! He will not fail you so never let the lies of a defeated enemy make you doubt that your God is bigger than your problems. His eye never leaves you, Rebecca! The truth is your armor so stand believing. Your victory is guaranteed!
I appreciate you, my friend, and I keep you in prayer. Stay strong and in God’s peace. I am here for you!

This is such a powerful message to hear right now. My family is going through a very difficult bankruptcy and I couldn’t have imagined that the burden would be so heavy. I has sleepless night as we owe hundreds of thousands. I feel like this very trial at times is designed to do me in. I know that there are worse scenarios out there but I pray that lord hears my cry and comes to deliver me from this bondage.

Hi Tony, It breaks my heart to see you in such a struggle but I am commited to pray for you each night! If your faith is in Christ, I can assure you that he does hear your cry and that right now, at this exact moment, he has begun the work of causing even this burden to be used for your good. There are no impossible situations with God. Christ did not come to earth to save you and then leave you to fend for yourself with the rest. He has your problem under control. It is the enemy who is trying to get you to believe that you are going to be destroyed by this bankruptcy. Many of this country’s most successful people have endured the pain of bankruptcy at some point before they made it to the top. You will emerge from this battle and be made stronger by God’s power if you can just keep your eyes on him and not your circumstance. This trial has no power to do you in so don’t be fooled by that trap! If you allow the lies to fill your mind, you will have sleepless nights. I want you to memorize Psalm 4:8 which says, ” I WILL LIE DOWN AND SLEEP IN PEACE, FOR YOU ALONE, O LORD, MAKE BE DWELL IN SAFETY”. That psalm was written by King David when he was on the run from his enemies who were trying to kill him. He understood that his life was not in his hands, but in his Creator’s hands and no one could take it from him. Everything that comes against you, Tony, MUST bow to the will of God’s perfect plan for your life. You must trust God in the bad times and not just in the good times. He is the same God always and he will not fail you. PLease, take comfort knowing that God has a way! He has a perfect way to take you to victory in this struggle. I write this one point all the time but I am going to say it again, Never let your problems be bigger than your God! I want you to write to me when God has taken you through this trial because it will be then that you will understand the power of your God and you will know without a doubt that God never left your side for a second!
Tony, I will lift you and your family up every night as I do all the prayer requests that come to my site. Stay in God’s peace because you matter to him. You are going to be okay. Read some of my articles. Each one of them deal with trust issues that I myself learned from going through my own trials. God bless you, dear friend. Please stop back and let me know how you are doing. I will be praying!!

Hi my friend, thank you for stopping and commenting. We all have weak times when it seems like help is nowhere in sight and that we will not make it through our trials. Those are lies from hell to make believers think that they can be destroyed. The truth is that your trials, as painful as they may be, are actually the tools that Christ uses to strengthen you and give you hope. The worth of a soldier is never known until he is in the battle. The same is true for us. As we face our fears and doubts and overcome them all by our faith, we are drawn closer to our God and made stronger for having endured our pain. There is no storm that comes against believers that God does not use for our advantage. Remember, promotion comes in the battles and not in times of peace. Our faith is being sharpened and shown to be real. Whenever you come to that time of doubt, take it captive to the truth and the knowledge that Christ has already won every single battle we face. We are just showing that we trust him for we can never be destroyed.
God bless you, friend. I hope you will stop back. I pray for all who come here.

Dear Marianne – reading about the miracle and more importantly your powerful replies to fellow readers has made me feel so much better, like many of us God has blessed my family and me in so many ways I fail to count my blessings but right now my dear brother is in so much trouble, pain and humiliation that I and my poor parents (bless them) feel so helpless and lost. I know our Lord is doing this for a reason but right now the pain and suffering we are having to go through, I cannot explain and wish that no one, no family in this whole world goes through what we are. Our world has litreally turned upside down, I often think I am dreaming and someone will hopefully wake me up. I know everything happens for a reason but right now it feels like only God knows what but pray for my dear brother Marianne and my poor parents who have bcome victims for no reason or fault of theirs. Please pray for my family and hopefully the Lord will forgive us and we can once again be happy – Amen.

Hi Kay,
I am so sorry to hear of the pain that your family is going through. I know when one family member is in trouble, it brings sadness to the whole family. I know you feel helpless in your brothers situation but remember that Christ welcomes the prayers of believers at the throne. He hears and he answers in a way that is good. While we won’t always understand the purpose that God allows tragedies in our lives, we know by faith that he has promised to be with us through them all and to work out his purpose and plan in all things. Everything that comes against a believer must first bow to the will of God for our life. He has the final word. He makes us stronger in every battle we face for it is there that his love and power is revealed. I am praying for you, my friend. I pray for God to work out the situation your brother is going through and to show his glory through it all. Take heart, dear sister, for you are not alone. I will be joining you in prayer and God has commanded his angels to watch over you and your family. Trust him. He will not fail you.

This post really make me feel much better. I’m struggling with my problem right now.
My family’s economic isn’t really good. My mom is just a housewife, and my dad is unemployed. I’m their oldest child and daughter,, and I have 4 sisters that are still in school, which means the expense is alot more than the income. I got a job offer with wage that can help my family alot, but then I’m still 18, and I have a dream to study abroad in Japan, want to applying for a scholarship. There was a situation where I have to choose only ONE of them. I was struggling, praying to God, and decide to chase my dream although I might not be able to get that job again. Then it’s today, I called my local Japanese embassy, and they made a change for the scholarship requirement this year, and I don’t fulfill that requirement, meaning I can’t apply for the scholarship at all, nor I can get the job back. I cried for hours, praying to God, asking for His answer and what is His plan for me.
Till now, I still don’t know what’ll happen next, and what’ll my future be. But reading this, I realize once again, He is always with me and everything is under His control. Deep in my heart, I’m wishing that He shows me His miracle, maybe by changing the embassy’s mind and start to change the requirement again, anything will do! I’ve always been wondering if there’s a way for me to know what His answers to all my question is. All I can do is waiting and keep my eyes on Him now. I also start to realize little by little, that this problem is nothing, and this might also be one of His plan for my future. I’m really grateful to you and your amazing post. You help me recover my faith alot. May God always blesses you in everything you do!!

It might not happen the way you want it to, but by faith you understand that God’s ways are higher and He alone knows what is best for you.

Although it may seem like he is slow to answer your prayers, he is actually working all things out for your good. He can’t fail so you can’t fail.
