Are you willing to surrender all you have to get all that Christ has ?
God has given me a love for all those who visits this site. I believe that He has a purpose for bringing all of you to the messages that he gives me to write. It is for this reason that I take seriously my burden to pray for each of you.
A few weeks ago, a young man visited my site and then emailed me with a question. He seemed troubled and yet I could see that he had faith. I want you to read what he wrote:
“I was on the internet one night and I came across you. I really liked it. My name is Christopher. You see, I don’t understand life. God says He loves us, but yet, he took away the people I love. I only just started going to church. I enjoy it but life is still tough for me. My heart belongs to God. I know that, but it is so hard to walk away from my friends. I want to serve and give my whole life to Him, but I am going to lose my family and friends. Advise please.”
I responded to Chris and explained about the surrendered life to Christ. When you are a believer, Christ is first in your life and you must be willing to give him all that you have and allow him to work in you. I explained a lot of things to him and told him to keep praying for his family and friends but that he must move ahead with his new life in Christ.
I did not hear from him that month, but last week, I received an email from his sister. She told me that her family had no idea that her little brother was going through this. She went on to tell me that Chris was no longer with us. When I asked her what happened, she told me an amazing story. She said that her brother had made a decision to follow Christ. He stood firm in this decision despite the fact that his family and friends did not like it and thought he totally lost his mind. He even left a girlfriend of three years because she chose alcohol and her lifestyle over a relationship with Christ.
About two weeks after writing to me, Chris was driving on his way to church. Just before he arrived, Chris got into a very serious accident which left him dying. His last words to his family was a plea for them to accept Christ as Lord and Savior. He whispered that Jesus was near to him right then and that he was not afraid to die! With that, he left this earth. What a bold testimony of faith he had! Because of his faith, that 20-year-old young man is now with Jesus in heaven.
By the power of Christ alone, Chris was able to choose to do what was right. He made the hard decision to leave all that he had to get all that Christ had to give him. He was willing to go wherever Christ would lead him. That young man had no idea when he wrote to me for advice that he had only a few weeks left to live!
I am humbled that God brought Chris to my blog. I prayed for him and his family. Christopher’s sister wrote that his death changed everything for them. Now the whole family wants to honor Chris and his prayers for them, so they decided to start attending the local church. One young man with the courage of his conviction and a faith that stood the test was able to impact his whole family with the Good News of Jesus Christ!
After his death, the grieving family went through Christopher’s things and found his diary and the email he sent me. I was sent a copy of something that he had written in his diary. It brought me to tears. My dear friends, please read what this young man wrote from a heart that had been radically changed for Christ:
“ I’ve been in love before, but in love with God is nothing I’ve ever experienced in my life. A friend who I didn’t know existed and who was always around anytime 24/7. I don’t regret my decision. I regret not making this decision earlier. I always thought people who went to church are all perfect and holy. But no, they are just as broken as I am. God knows best. I pray that my family and friends will soon experience the love of God. I don’t have a dad. Never met him, never seen or heard from him. But I stopped looking for him and wondering what a father is because I just found a Father of all fathers—-God! “
My beloved friends, I don’t know where you are right now or what you have done. The truth is that Jesus wants you with him. He has known your name long before he formed the world. His love is true and he is faithful. He has a way to bring you to victory no matter how impossible it may seem now. Your weakness is now made strong by his power. Christ can give you a future with hope and an eternity with him if you will surrender your heart to him.
The power of Christ gave a young man the courage to stand for his faith despite the outcome. He gave him hope for a future and an unconditional love that he had never known before. Chris never met his earthly father. But the God of all heaven was a Father to him whose eyes never left this young man for a second. His life was cut short, but Chris made the decision for Christ that would last into eternity!
Have you made that decision to follow Christ? You don’t have to wonder about it anymore. I am praying for you and I am here to talk to you if you have any questions. My hope is that those who need to hear the truth will be open to receive Christ as Savior and Lord. It is a free gift that is yours for the asking.
I am lifting up Christopher’s family in prayer for comfort and healing. I pray that they will continue to seek Christ and surrender to the only truth that matters! Just as Chris was not afraid to die – no believer ever has to fear death.

Powerful testimony and who knows? Maybe one of his family will end up being a Saul of Tarsus who heard Stephen’s last words and then soon became the man of God named Paul.

“Beautiful”!! What a Testimony! Praise God he was sold out for Jesus and I want to be,so please keep praying for me Marianne. Lately my trials & test seem to be,they seem to be more than I can bear, but that’s a lie. God measures them out before they even reach us,so they are not to heavy. It’s the weak flesh that wants to give in and give up,but the precious Holy Spirit is greater in me “Hallelujah”!! And I know God is using me greatly now,and it’s going to increase because my T & T”S have increased, this flesh must die! I love and appreciate you so very much! 😀

Praise God that He is using you in such ways! What a privilege it is to be used of God! I continue to pray for you. I am thankful for all of your help and encouragement over the last few years. Your input on the last few books has been a blessing. Keep focused on Christ and Him alone. What unbelievable fellowship and joy there is in the hidden place of prayer with Christ. May we all toil to this end – that we seek godliness, holiness and piety in life. May we set to death our worldly and fleshly service to self – may we kill our sin (Romans 8). May we quit hindering a much fuller and much more joyous walk with the risen Savior – The Lord Jesus Christ. To Him be all the glory and honor and praise. May we know Him, not by mere throught or word or deed, but rather in intimacy, power, truth and resurrection from the grave clothes of death. May we stand against hell, stand against our flesh, stand against sin and stand for truth, stand for purity of heart and stand for a wholly devoted life and this in all things.
Peace and blessings my sister.
Your brother in Christ Jesus our Lord,
Jeremy Strang

An extremely timely message. My step daughter was just run over by two speeding vehicles as she was returning home from her daily exercise run. All her ribs were broken, her spine broke, her wrist broke and she suffered numerous internal injuries. Many, many people prayed for her. Over the course of several days she is recovering so remarkably fast that everyone is amazed. I saw a vision of the steel rod they put in her spine and the plate that they used to hold her wrist together coming out of her in a supernatural way. At this point I knew that GOD was in control. Even though it seems that He is nowhere near most of the time, this is another event in my life that proves He is ,and how the prayers of sincere people are so important. May GOD bless you.

Hi Pat, you are such a dear friend who just is a blessing and a gift from God! You are so right that God does measure out our trials before he allows anything to come upon us. And he has a divine, deliberate reason for allowing them in our lives. Pat, you do such a great work for the kingdom, stay strong and know that it is our God who is moving you and using you in such a great way.

Hi Allen, God is always in control of all that comes against us. For reasons that he alone knows, he allows us to face trials and difficulties but he does so to help us grow in Him and to be prepared for the battles that we face. I am so glad that your step-daughter survived the accident and I pray that God will continue to heal and bless her. Keep your eyes on Christ, Allen, for he will be the strength you need to help your family through this all.

Sister, how great are the insights that Jesus give you.You are truly an incomparable blessing to me.Remember we talk lot about thoughts that reflect on the faith that stands tests.I am so glad that Jesus made you write this amazing article,it will move lives and is very powerful. The best part is YOU HAVE LEARNT THIS THROUGH YOUR OWN TRIAL too,so I guess it is so true that trials are the best time to learn.Do you remember I told you that your own suffering will help you know how others like you feel and will help you get along better in your ministry.I was thinking of Chris, but the fact that we will see him one day again like you said, is just superb.Yes,that is why we have nothing to worry, even to the point of death 🙂
May Jesus use you more and more mightily for His children and building up of His dazzling Kingdom, through you,PEARL OF CHRIST <3

Marianne;
It is so very easy for those in a storm to be swept away in a flood of grief and dispair so it is a high honor indeed to be chosen by God to be an anchor for those who feel as though they are perishing. I am sure from your post that God has provided comfort to the family members of young Christopher through your compassionate words for the present and he will provide direction in the same manner for their future. It is so overwhelming to read about one so young who says that he doesn’t understand life but in his search for understanding life, he discovered and followed the only one capable of helping mankind in comprehending the great mystery of eternity.

Rev. York, It always comforts me when you stop by. This young man was so new in his faith yet it mattered to him to use his last breath on this earth to lead his family to Christ. That just shows me the power of the Spirit of God to transform us into Christ’ image. How amazing and wonderful is the love that Jesus has for us?
I pray that you are well, my brother. You have taught me how to stand for the truth no matter what the price. I really appreciate you.

Sharon, It is so sweet of you to encourage me as you do. For someone so very young, it is awesome to see how God has anointed you to reach out to others. As I struggle with my own trials, you told me that, “The more satan is bothered to dismantle you, the more God is planning to use you.” What wisdom from a relatively new believer. You are such a blessing to me and those you touch with your love.

But I feel like I’m living in a nightmare of a dream that can’t come true, I ask myself does God want me to study further does he want me to be happy, have I angered him and is that why I’m experiencing this tragedy does he hear me when I cry, is this a lesson , is there light at the end of the tunnel, my friends are all happy in varsity living their dream and I’m stuck at home with no valid to why I keep getting rejected for studying law, I pray about it, and my mother tells me to have faith but I don’t think I lack faith I just don’t know what to do!! Please help me
June 27, 2012 at 7:42 pm
Marianne Lordi
My dear friend, lebogang, I know it has been hard for you to keep getting rejections to schools instead of acceptance. I personally believe that God is going to take you to the school that he wants you to attend. My friend, if you are seeking the will of God and you have a desire to go to school, then just keep praying and watching. The desire you have is for good. Sometimes we have to wait upon God’s perfect timing for him to give us the desires of our heart but it is always for a good reason. Trust him right now, lebogang. Don’t wait until you can see the answer. Trust him even before it happens. God is not going to fail you. And I will be praying for you each night, dear friend. God has the plan! You are not alone!

Hi Kobena, Chris had his heart radically changed for Christ. When you are saved, Christ comes and lives in your heart. Once you have seen the truth and felt the victory, you are changed for good. You hava e joy knowing that whatever comes against you must bow to the will of God for your life. You have assurance of a life everlasting with Christ in heaven. That is the truth that Chris understood. I will help you, Kobena, and I will be praying for you. The fact that you are desiring that kind of faith is evidence that the Holy Spirit is working in you. I will keep you in prayer.

What an awesome story. We sow the Holy Spirit and let God do the rest. It reminds me of church administrators who worry about statistics and forget the greater calling. I recall a young man in high school years ago who was invited to a viewing of “A Thief in the Night”. He went, but never went back. So much for statistics. But a seed was sown and 5 years later it blossomed and now 40 years later here i am….
God bless the work He does through you.

Hi Marianne,
Reading Chris story brought me to tears. It reminds me of God’s grace and mercy. It does not matter who finishes first, just that we finish. Remember the thief on the cross. This day you shall be with me in paradise. I believe in my heart that God spoke those same words to Christ on that day when he transition from earth to eternity.
Thanks for sharing such a heart felt story. I pray to God that fruit will bear from this story. This story needs to be placed ont he front page of every newspaper in the world.
I thank God that He has connected me to you and your ministry.
God bless and I love ya.

Hi Matt, I am so sorry for the loss of your grandparent. Remember that death is part of life, Matt. If you have Christ in your heart, you understand that this earth is just a temporary life. We have hope that one day we will be united in heaven with our loved ones who also loved Christ. God knows your pain, Matt. He won’t leave you without help. You need to seek him out and surrender your weakness to him. You must have faith that he will not fail you. Please read your bible. Do you have one, Matt? It is the truth that arms you for the day. The only way you can trust your God is to know him. There is always hope when you belong to Christ, Matt. Maybe you need to make that choice to come to Christ and let him be your Lord and Savior. It is the only way to victory. Your life is not over because you lost someone you loved. Honor your grandparent but don’t allow her death to destroy your life. That would help no one.
Matt, I am here to talk to you if you want to email me. We can reason from God’s word so you will see that he does have a future for you. I am here and I will be praying for you.

Dear Marianne
I am so inspired by the work you are doing to advance Kingdom of God. I was led to the article about Chris because I have a son in a similar situation, struggling with his faith. Sometimes he is completely lost which frustrates me. I wonder why he cannot make good decision. But after Chris’ moving story I came to understand that for each one of us, God will put into place the people and events to help us eventually run to Him. He will not suffer the loss of any one of His saints.

Hi Maggi, I am so glad that you were moved by the faith of Chris and his struggle as his family turned against him when he became a believer. God was with him to the end and by his death and the faith he held onto until the end, he brought his unsaved family to church to hear the word of God and hopefully to be saved. How awesome is that. Chris’ faith just touched my heart and encouraged me to stand even when everyone else is against me. I pray that you got the same message.
God bless you, dear friend. Stay focused on the truth and be strong in your faith.

Hi Evanglyn, I always pray for God to bring to my site those for whom he has given me a message. You have asked a good question. Jesus tells us to examine ourselves to see if we are in the faith. When you first come to Christ, the Holy Spirit fills you and begins a work of transforming you into the image of Christ. If you trust Jesus to be your Savior and you know in your heart that he alone paid the price for your sins, then the work has begun. Surrendering to Christ means that you strive in all ways to do his will. He will give you the strength to do this. You not only have a new relationship with Christ, but you also have a new relationship to sin. You no longer desire to do the things which separate you from God. That doesn’t mean that you never sin again, but it means that you no longer sin as you did before. You are a new creation. You find yourself seeking out the things of Christ in his word. You should read your Bible each morning to find the knowledge, wisdom, and strength you need for the day. God speaks to us through his word. You won’t audibly hear his voice, but he speaks to your heart even when you feel you don’t understand totally all that you are reading. I have read the bible many times over and there are still things that I am learning. The word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword to equip you for life in Christ. As you read, the Holy Spirit will give you understanding in his timing. Every message I wrote on this blog came from something I learned in God’s word.
My dear sister, I am praying for you right now to understand what I have said and to continue in your walk with Christ. The Holy Spirit will testify to your heart the assurance of your salvation when you seek Christ in his word and in your prayers. I am here to talk with you if you have questions. You can email me any time. mbernard4477@gmail.com
Evanglyn, I will be keeping you in prayer. I trust that Christ will open your heart and mind to understand the assurance of His salvation. If you are seeking truth through Jesus, you WILL find it. He loves you more than you could ever know.
