“Then he said, “Jesus remember me when you come into your kingdom.” (Luke 23:42)
We read in Scripture that Jesus was crucified along with two robbers on either side of him. The gospels of Mark and John say little about these men. While Matthew tells us that both robbers insulted Jesus, Luke’s gospel tells us that one of the thieves asked Jesus to remember him when he came into his kingdom. Despite the fact that he was dying, the condemned man finally understood that the one who could save him for all eternity was on the cross right next to him.
So many times our problems cause us to think that God has forgotten us. It is hard to understand that the Source of our strength and our Provider in all things is already with us. When a situation seems hopeless, it is difficult to not grow weary and lose strength. But we are told in Scripture to keep trusting and believing in all of our trials even when we don’t see the answer. We read in Romans 8:24, “Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees?” Our faith must transcend the boundaries of what we hear, see and feel. We must trust that the God we serve is working out his plan in our lives through every battle we face. Faith doesn’t see the future – it trusts the One who holds the future!
Everything that God allows in the life of a believer has been divinely designed. There are no mistakes in the plan that was made for you long before the foundation of the earth. Whatever is happening in your life that doesn’t seem right or fair has been allowed for a distinct purpose. It is never easy to suffer through our painful trials, but it is the working of our faith that gives us endurance to stay in the race and not give up.
We read the account of David in the book of I Samuel. Young David had the job of watching his family’s herd of sheep. It was a tedious task, but David was being trained by God for greatness as he worked alone protecting the flock. It was there that David single-handedly killed both a lion and a bear who were attacking his sheep. During the battle with those dangerous animals, David knew that it was God’s power that was with him protecting him and his sheep from being killed. Day after day, working in the hot sun to watch over the sheep, God was preparing David for a royal position. He was never without hope in that field for the God of the universe had declared that he would one day be king!
Alone in the field, David practiced with his sling. This young teen had no idea at the time that all that he was enduring was actually equipping him to defeat the enemy and save the Jewish people. He was being prepared for battle. When the time came, his older brothers and the other Jewish men cowered in fear at the taunting Philistine giant named Goliath, but David ran toward this oppressor armed with the power of God, his sling and five stones and killed the giant! He had no doubt that he would be victorious because he believed in the power of his God. His trust was unwavering. He was a man after God’s own heart.
It doesn’t matter what your position in life is now. Your problems and trials may be heavy but they cannot hold you back from the calling God has made on your life. If your trust is in Christ, you are being called to a regal position in the army of the living God. Your path is set and your future is guaranteed. There is nothing that can steal your inheritance or kill the dream he gave you. In every struggle you face, Jesus remembers you and he has a way to help you through it. In all things, you have been declared a victor. Not even the powers of hell can ever take that from you!
Dear Jesus,
I am praying for all those who come to this site. We are facing problems of every kind and many of us are growing weary. We take you at your word, dear Lord. We trust that you have the power to change our circumstance and to cause all things to be used for our good. I pray for marriages to be mended. I pray for peace to fill those who have been hurt. I pray for your protection and provision for single mothers trying to make it in life. I lift up those who are facing a serious illness. May they know that you are with them and that they have nothing to fear when their trust is in you. I pray for those dealing with financial difficulties and those who may be losing their homes. Please provide for them the help they need. I pray for you to give your strength to those who are weary in a battle. May you be the power to those who are in bondage to drugs, alcohol and pornography. I pray for you to comfort those in painful circumstance and who feel there is no way out. I plead that you rescue those who are considering suicide and let them know that you can work out their struggle. Let them know they have a reason to live. I pray for your help for those who are being persecuted for their faith. Give them the joy of their salvation and protect their families during this time.
I intercede for all who do not know you personally as Lord and Savior. I pray, dear Jesus, that you will unveil their eyes to the truth. Let them know how much you love them. Help them to see that they could never fall so far that you cannot bring them back to where you are.
I pray for the peace and protection of Israel.
I present these requests to you, dear Jesus, and know that you will hear and answer. Amen

Hallelujah!! It is so good to see that you triumphed and wrote a great article for us. Such a good reminder that God brought David special training for his future tasks for Him. I know I will read this one again! It is definitely one of those I will “borrow” for one of my blogs. It is truly a “bulls eye” article. I am so excited and encouraged. Thank you so much, Marianne! <-Charles

oh Mariane, right on target today for me! Of course because I have been so vocal, I have been receiving too much attention from the evil one. He has caused me no end of troubles-physically, financially, job-wise.
When I am hurting so much I don’t have any stamina to fight and that is what has been so bad. They took the Remicade away because I am having imunity issues, but the pain is so bad, I don’t care. There is no qaulity of life.
I won’t go into the other issues.

Once again you have brought us a message of encouragment and hope. We all need to remember that it isn’t that our problems are too big, it’s that our God is too small. Knowing that our Father is greater than all of our circumstances allows us to hope in the midst of unanwered questions and fleshly doubt. Thanks for this great word, my friend!

Hi Linden, thank you for your comment. You are a dear friend to me and I always appreciate your input. Our problems are not too big for God and he doesn’t forget us. I have to especially remember that because I am going through a trial of my own. It is hard but I keep in my heart how many times God has taken me through my struggles. This one is no different. Whatever the outcome, he will be with me. God bless you, Linden. I value our frienship!

Hi Aloysius, I am glad you stopped by and appreciate your comment. I will be praying for you as I do all who stop here. We all need to pray with trust knowing that in all things, Christ has our best ineterest in mind. He allows what he does for our good. He is perfecting his plan for our lives. Be blessed, dear friend, and know that God is with you in all that you go through!

Hi Cindy, I know how you feel about losing the stamina to fight against the evil one. We are all in a battle. If you belong to Christ you are marked for attack by the enemy. But we don’t have to have our own strength in these battles. Young David fought with the strength of God to take down the giant. We just have to keep our eyes on Christ and trust that he will always be bigger than anything we face. I know you are suffering in pain with a lot of health issues. I will keep praying for you, Cindy. I know your faith and it will stand the test. I don’t know why you must suffer like that but I know that God will take you through it. I am here for you, my sister. I will be praying for you.

Hi Susan, I am so glad you visited here. We all need the reminder that God’s plan for us is NOT going to fail. If we keep looking at our circumstance instead of our God, we will become weary and give up. It is only in knowing whom you serve, and by understanding God’s immeasurable love for you that you can stay in the race and keep fighting the good fight until Christ returns for you. Surrender your will to Christ and let him work out the detail of your future and that of your children. I will be praying for you, Susan. It is nice to meet a sister from Australia!

Hello Marianne, whenever I see a post from you I get excited for I know that God uses you to bless us every time you write. And I was not disappointed at all, thanks so much for these reminders of God’s faithfulness,I surely needed them now! The whole post was a blessing but this really spoke to my heart:
“It doesn’t matter what your position in life is now. Your problems and trials may be heavy but they cannot hold you back from the calling God has made on your life”. Nothing absolutely nothing can hold me back because God is not finished with me yet.
Love you Marianne and I appreciate your prayers. 😀

My dear friend, you will never know how much that prayer lifted me up today! God has blessed me with friends like you who heed his call to encourage and strengthen others in prayer. I am so thankful that you stopped to let me know you are praying.
I do pray for all that come to this site. I pray for each one and somehow God has given me a special love for all of them. I always pray that he will make these messages become very real to those who need to hear the truth that he gives me. In all of my writings, I only write ot things that God has shown me or has taken me through. I know that he is true to his promises. Look at all the love he has surrounded me with! Can you see his hand in all of this? I am blessed beyond measure. In the midst of my painful trial, Christ is at the center and he is working out his will and his purpose. My God has authority over all that I endure. For that reason, I cannot doubt or fear. He has taken me way too far for me to give up now.
May God bless you, my dear friend in Christ. You have given me a word from God. I love you for that!

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for this timely message. Me and my husband are in a middle of a financial tightness. Last December we had to give up the house which we bought last 2009. We had to give it up because our expenses had piled up last year. I was stricken with Endometrial Cancer, Diabetes & Hypertension last year. But amidst all of this, I can still see the hand of God working His way through us & showing us that He is doing something in our situation. Yes, it’s really difficult but despite all of this, I can still “see” & really “feel” God’s support in this difficult situation. Before I read your message today, I was really down because of the financial difficulty we are going through especially with regards to my medical expenses. But after reading your message, I know it was God’s way of talking to me & assuring me that He is always with me whatever is the situation I am in. And I feel better now & really felt God’s presence while going through your message. Thank you for you friend, Marianne for allowing God to channel His blessing to different people through you. Heavenly Father, thank you so much. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN.

Welcome friend! I am so sorry for all that you are going through. I know how easy it is to feel defeated when attacks come from everywhere. But you are right to understand that in spite of all that has happened to you and your husband, God is still in control and full authority. He has the power to do great things through your life and use for good all that you must now endure. You are feeling weary now and that is understandable. Just hold on to the truth and let the word of God fill you with the power of his love and his promises. My sister, you are not alone and you never will be. You don’t have to see the legions of angels that God has surrounding you to know that he has you covered in this trial. He is not going to let you be destroyed. Your financial problems are not too big for God who owns everything in this world. I will be praying for you. God hear our prayers an he is faithful to help us. Please know that I am here for you anytime. My heart is with you. I will stand in this battle with you!

“Faith doesn’t see the future – it trusts the One who holds the future!”
I can always count on useful lines when I read your posts. I’ve told several groups of my guys what you said you tell your girls – that God is not as interested in setting them free from jail as He is in setting them free from what got them there. They like it.
I especially like the one here. I’m sure I’ll share it.
As much as any though is a line in your prayer – “Let them know how much you love them.” I pray the same for my guys. I read recently where Paul said he was the least of the apostles and didn’t even deserve to be called an apostle. But God’s grace was not without effect. He knew the effect of knowing that God loved him. I believe knowing – in contrast to doubting – effects us.

Hi Mike, I always love when you stop by. The Apostle Paul did in fact know that God loved him despite what he allowed him to endure. Paul knew his God so well that he was convinced beyond a doubt that he would work all things out that he gave to him that day. I am in a trial right now myself. I found myself worrying about the outcome when it occurred to me that I was listening to the enemy! If I truly believe that my God loves me and has my best interest in his plan fo me, why would I ever give a moment’s thought to the outcome of my struggle? All that comes against me must bow to the will of God for my life. His authority counters every attack the enemy makes against me. What do I have to fear? Nothing! And that knowledge is my strength!

4. My son Joel who has been born again, but is still addicted to drugs to be set free. 5. Brother in the Lord angry at me and speaking evil of me to others and trying to turn people against me and has caused me much hurt and pain.

Hi Marianne,
What words can I use to describe such a beautiful person inside and out. You are truly a true friend and warrior.
The battle is not given to the swift nor the strong, but to those who endure to the end. I now without a doubt, through your blogs that you are a strong solider on the battlefield for the Lord. You have the fighting power of Jesus on the inside of you. Therefore, you are already victorious, more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus.
I just want to take a moment to thank you for the wonderful deed that you have done by your beautiful, honest and sincere note that you wrote concerning my site. I can truly say that because of what you have done through your leading of the Holy Spirit, I have picked up at least 4 times more new comers.
God has no other choice but to bless you Marianne. Not only are you faithful to Him and His Word, but you are also faithful to His people. Great is your reward Marianne.
I can truly say that you are ‘A WOMAN AFTER GOD’S OWN HEART”! I am more than honored to call you “FRIEND” because that you are indeed.
Again, thanks and I love you with the love of Christ.

Hi Sharlyn, I will be praying for you and that which comes against you. Remember that God is your vindicator. Those who talk against you will not succeed in destroying you. Keep reading your bible every day and let God’s truth be your armor. Let him defend you. He will speak to you through his word so seek him out each day. I will be praying for you and your family. I am especially concerned about your son, Joel, who is still addicted to drugs. I will be praying for him to know the power of Christ so that he may turn to him and be set free. God has a way for those who seek him. There is always hope for those who belong to Christ.

“So many times our problems cause us to think that God has forgotten us.” Very well-worded post – and isn’t that so true? It is easier for some to remember the Lord in times of great distress, for then they are forced to see Him as their only hope. It is easier for others to remember the Lord when things are going well, and to rely on their own faculties when things turn dire. The former situation is a problem of ingratitude, and the latter is a problem of faithlessness. Thankfully, His remembrance of His children is not as variable as our remembrance of Him. http://swimthedeepend.wordpress.com/2010/01/07/oh-do-remember-me/

Hi my sister, Marianne.
Just checking in. Letting you know that I am keeping us and all the believers before the Father’s throne.
I pray all is well and I know that God has you in the palm of His hands. A place where no one can pluck you from. Ain’t that’s just like our gracious and loving God. He holds us close and near to Him. I love Him on today and I know you love HIm too.
I want you to know I miss ya.
You are indeed blessed and highly favored of the Father. He is watching you right now and smiling, saying “look at my baby girl”, she makes me so proud. She is truly a Warrior, fighting the good fight of faith.
Love ya my sista.

Hi Ministry Addict, I read the well written message on your blog on this subject and you are right on. Thanks for stopping. I’m always happy to hear from you.

Marianne; Dear friend, These are insightful and encouraging words that you have presented to your readers. These are exceedingly dark days for the followers of Jesus wherein writer and reader alike are suffering. It is said that, “HE WHO BEARS A TORCH SHADOWS ONESELF THAT OTHERS MIGHT HAVE LIGHT.” That is so very true concerning your ministry. I am aware of some of the sorrow and pain that you are feeling at this moment. John tells us “AND THESE THINGS WRITE WE UNTO YOU, THAT YOUR JOY MAY BE FULL. THIS THEN IS THE MESSAGE WHICH WE HAVE HEARD OF HIM, AND DECLARE UNTO YOU, THAT GOD IS LIGHT, AND IN HIM IS NO DARKNESS AT ALL.”
Paul gives even greater insight into the unlimited power of a Christian under assault. “BUT IF OUR GOSPEL BE HID, IT IS HID TO THEM WHO ARE LOST: IN WHOM THE GOD OF THIS WORLD HATH BLINDED THE MINDS OF THEM WHICH BELIEVE NOT, LEST THE LIGHT OF THE GLORIOUS GOSPEL OF CHRIST, WHO IS THE IMAGE OF GOD, SHOULD SHINE UNTO THEM. FOR WE PREACH NOT OURSELVES, BUT CHRIST JESUS THE LORD; AND OURSELVES YOUR SERVANTS FOR JESUS’ SAKE. FOR GOD, WHO COMMANDED THE LIGHT TO SHINE OUT OF THE DARKNESS, HATH SHINED IN OUR HEARTS, TO GIVE THE LIGHT OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE GLORY OF GOD IN THE FACE OF JESUS CHRIST. BUT WE HAVE THIS TREASURE IN EARTHEN VESSELS, THAT THE EXCELLENCY OF THE POWER MAY BE OF GOD, AND NOT OF US.
Think about this Marianne; we have an abundance of “LIVING WATERS” within us. St. John tells us in 7;39 “BUT THIS SPAKE HE OF THE SPIRIT, WHICH THEY THAT BELIEVE ON HIM SHOULD RECEIVE.” So we see then that those “LIVING WATERS” are for those who believe.
That message of light is for those who believe not and until the vessel is broken, the light is confined to the vessel, therefore, “WE ARE TROUBLED ON EVERY SIDE, YET NOT DISTRESSED; WE ARE PERPLEXED, BUT NOT IN DISPAIR; PERSECUTED, BUT NOT FORSAKEN, CAST DOWN; BUT NOT DESTROYED;”
As ministers of the gospel of Jesus Christ, we shine our brightest when we are hurting most as Paul tells us in verse 11 of II Corinthians, chapter 4. “FOR WE WHICH LIVE ARE ALWAY DELIVERED UNTO DEATH FOR JESUS’ SAKE, THAT THE LIFE ALSO OF JESUS MIGHT BE MADE MANIFEST IN OUR MORTAL FLESH”
It always feels so much better when we are drinking from a fountain of living water, but even when we are thirsty and broken, we have assurance that Jesus is working goodness in a mystery to be later revealed in his grandest work.

Hi Rev. York! I am so glad that you stopped by and gave such wisdom and encouragement. You said, “ As ministers of the gospel of Jesus Christ, we shine our brightest when we are hurting most.” Those words went right to my heart. I am struggling and sometimes the pain of my situation wears me down. But I have come too far by Christ strength to do anything but to keep fighting the good fight. The love of Christ compels me to reach others and comfort them with his truth. Each time he gives me a message of hope, I apply it to my life first. Everyone is struggling through some battle in this perishing world. There is no escaping problems. Yet those who belong to Christ know in thier heart whom they have believed. That is what defines them as true believers. They understand that these struggles are working out a divine, eternal plan and that each tear we shed does not go unnoticed by our faithful Shepherd. He is with us. We are never alone. Christ delivered us from this body of death when he paid the price for our redemption. We have been given power from heaven to overcome all that seeks to bring us down. The one thing I know so well is that all that Christ allows to come against me must first bow to his will for my life! Job could not have been attacked by Satan if God did not plan for it all to be used for his blessing and reward. That is true for us all.
I am so blessed by God who has provided me with many wonderful people here who pray for me. I understand the power of prayer and I pray for all who come to my site. God has given me a love for everyone he leads to my blog. I take to heart their pain and struggle and lift my petitions up to the One who has promised to always help. We have reason for our hope. As you said, we have assurance through it all that Jesus is working goodness in a mystery that will one day be revealed. I understand that God’s ways are higher and so much grander than mine. For that reason, I will keep sharing his love despite what troubles I have.
You are always a blessing to me, Rev. York! I pray that God will continue to use you mightily for his kingdom.

Amen my sister Marianne!
You know that your God is an ontime God. He is never late; always on time!!! We can shout right there!!!
Our God never slumbers nor sleep. He is our keeper, watching over His people day and night! Yes, we do have that blessed assurance that the Father is with us. Remember the 3 Hebrew boys in the furnace, remember Daniel in the lion, remembr David on the run from Saul, remember Jonah in the fish belly? Yes, our God is able!!! He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we could ask or think accoding to the power that worketh in us. GOOD GOD ALMIGHTY!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!! LOVE YOU MY SISTER!! Stay encouraged, God has your back.
Love ya.
Your sister in Christ!

I am going through some tribulation, which I think may be a test to help me be more humble, patient, and trusting. I don’t like this experience, but I am definitely trying to learn from this…… somehow.

Just keep your eyes on Christ in this storm, Noel. No matter what happens, he will take you through this trouble and give you a better understanding of his power. He is going to do the same for me. His ways will always be higher. We don’t have to like what we are called to endure. We just have to trust that Christ will always meet us in the fire. I am praying for you, Noel!

Hi Marianne,
I thank God for the message you shared here! Even those who strive to encourage others, need to be encouraged, at some point in time! This message was truly encouraging to me! Thank you so much for the prayer. Truly, the Lord knows what we need, and exactly when we need it!
I pray the Lord’s blessings upon your life, and that you be strengthened! May He pour back into you, beyond measure. May you experience the peace that surpasses all understanding! This I ask in Jesus name. Paulette

Just popping in to see how you are coming along! I know that you pour out so much of yourself into the messages that the Lord gives you to share with His people! May He replenish you, and restore unto you 100 fold! You are truly a blessing to the body of Christ, as well as to those who are in need of a relationship with Him for the very first time! Thinking of you! God bless you, my friend!

Bless you, Paulette, for thinking of me. I am grateful for your concern and emcouragement. I am taking each day and surrndering it all to Christ. I know that God sees where I am and what I need. I have no doubt that he will provide for me all that I need. Right now, I am only concentrating on his work and helping others. He will take care of my problems in his way and his timing. He has not forgotten me. He sent me friends like you to lift me up!
Thank you, dear friend. I appreciate you.

HALLELUJAH…..i dont knw if thats how u even spell that but 1 day wen i asked wat that word actually meant,no one could give me an answer. Out of nowhere, this awesome dude called Mathew said,THAT WORD IS THE GREATEST PRAISE/HONOUR U CAN USE TO GLORIFY GOD! Mathew workd wit me for just 1 day n he never came back…n a chat that lasted literally only seconds will now live wit me till my last days. I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF U, NOR DO I KNOW HOW THIS PAGE EVEN CAME UP WIT MY SEARCH SUGGESTIONS, BUT I KNW WEN I READ THE TITLE,1ST REACTION WAS TO IGNORE IT BUT AS SOON AS THAT HAPPEN,A VOICE FROM INSIDE OF ME SAID,JUST CLICK ON IT N BK-MARK IT! N that is wat i did…until couple hrs later sumting inside of me startd saying,OPEN THAT PAGE!! U wrote this prayer in january but i was meant to read it today because i want so badly to put my life bk in the hands of GOD but my addictions n everyting u mentiond in the prayer keep pullin me away. PLEASE IN JESUS NAME I ASK U SAY A STRONG PRAYER FOR ME SO THAT THIS LITTLE SPARK WIT-IN ME THAT U HAVE IGNITED BECOMES A RAGING INFERNO N CONSUMES THE WEAKNESS’S OF MY FLESH. SO I TOO 1 DAY CAN IGNITE A SPARK IN SUM-ONES LIFE.

Hi Patrick, I am so glad that God brought you to this site. I pray for all those who visit here. When I wrote that prayer, I felt the leading of God to reach out to those who feel that their weakness and addictions can never be overcome. That is a lie from hell, my brother. With Christ, you have already been declared a victor. All things that you face are under his control and he can bring you peace with just a word. I pray that you will understand the power of God’s love. I pray that you will learn to surrender your pain and struggles to him so that you might be made strong. I pray that you will have the unsurpassing peace that only Christ can give you as you let him be the strength that you need to overcome all the bondages and addictions in your life. There is always reason to hope, Patrick, because we serve a risen Lord! He has defeated all of your enemies and he will lead you on the path that he has planned for your life if you will submit to him. He is there for you and he will never fail you.
I will be praying for you, my brother. God sent you here for a reason and I take that seriously. You can always email me if you want to talk things over. God has a plan for your life. He is not going to let you be destroyed as long as you call upon his name.

Hi my friend…was just reading through some of your posts…..which I do time to time….right now I find my self needing some prayer and am really somewhere in that wilderness and cant seem to find the Spirit and the Lord seems to really be testing me over the last few months with no answers or seemingly closeness….a lot of it is probably satan lying as usual but it really does hurt to have this type of separation…..so I just keep praying and moving forward….any way hope that all is well with you sister…you remain in my prayers….lift me up in yours…sure need some strength right now its a bit lonely out in this desert…..god Bless you….Frank

Hi Frank,
In these ending times, we ALL are going through trying and testing. It is not that God does not care. It is that he cares very much for you and all that you are going through. I have cried myself to sleep and my heart breaks over all the trials I am facing and have faced. It is a lonely, painful path but not without purpose. You are being refined for greatness, dear Frank. You need to remember that when you feel weary. It is just for a time. Actually, for a very short time now. Hold on and keep your eyes on the prize that is Christ. You are not going to be destroyed by your pain. You are being fitted for royalty.
Love, your sister in Christ Marianne
