I the LORD do not change (Malachi 3:1)
God’s faithfulness is the same today, tomorrow and forever. As he has helped others, so also will he do now for us. His love has no bounds and his mercies are new every day. Though the times change and we change, God is with us in every single aspect of our lives. Although the battle rages on in this dark world, the foundation of Christ who died to give us life will always remain. He is true to his word. The troubles of this world have no power to destroy a believer. To think otherwise is to believe a lie.
I took the picture above in my backyard. It always is amazing to me how the leaves of the trees change into beautiful colors right before they fall down. The Mastermind of this phenomenon is God. He ordained the different seasons and has a purpose for each part of the cycle. While I always wish the leaves would keep their vibrant colors and stay on the trees, that is not his plan. He has a purpose for all things in creation for it was by his hand that all things came to be. Nothing evolved on its own. There is one God who is the Creator of all.
Yet during times of stress and change, it is difficult to remember that God has authority over everything. Each day brings a different problem and sometimes it is hard to keep the faith through our tears. Where is my God when it seems like my struggles are getting worse and the pain is unbearable? As we watch the darkness of evil growing and filling this world, can we truly trust that the plan of Christ for us is going to succeed? Evil is being called good and wrong is being called right. It is as if the world is turned inside out. If God’s love is unchanging, why does he allow this all to happen?
The bible tells us that God created man in his own image and saw that it was good. He provide us with everything we would ever need and yet mankind still fell into sin. We rebelled against a holy God. That should have been the end of us at that point. But we are told that “God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16) God’s love did not change despite our sin. He still made a way to bring us back to him. Although sin and wickedness came into the world and corrupted everything, God’s plan of redemption never changed.
We are still living in a perishing world. You only need to turn on the news to see that most people are on the wide path of destruction. This is not heaven. All things are not going to be perfect until Christ returns to make all things new. We must suffer for a while to prove ourselves as sons and daughters. It is not easy to watch loved ones suffer and die. It is heartbreaking to watch as families are being torn apart as hearts grow cold. The enemy has unleashed his final fury as he knows his time is short. Persecution against Christians is on the rise. And God’s ways are being perverted everywhere to suit the desires of the lost. We are living in the last days.
My dear friends, I write this message to touch those who are going through fierce storms in their lives. You are not forgotten. God has not forsaken you. You are being made ready for a royal position that will never end. God is with you in this battle even though it seems like you are alone. His legions of angels are acting on his command to guard you throughout your struggle. The Apostle Paul tells us: “Put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground and after you have done everything, to stand!” (Ephesians 6:13) Know the God you serve so that you can trust him no matter what happens.
Take time to read your bible every single day. Let God’s truth be your armor that keeps you trusting in him despite your problems. God has not changed. His love for you will endure forever. He will not fail you. Your hope is secure because you belong to him. Nothing in all of creation will ever be able to stop his love for you or his plan for your life.
In the spring, when the leaves return and the flowers unfold in all their beauty, I will be reminded that God’s promises never fail.
Dear Lord, my heart breaks as I hear of the struggles of your people. I pray that they will understand that although the battles of this world are leaving them wounded and weary, you have already declared them a victor. Nothing is going to touch their lives apart from your will and purpose. You will give them your peace in the midst of their struggle. I pray for all to come to know that even though we are living in a fallen world, your plan is still unfolding and we have a reason to be hopeful. The price has been paid and because Christ lives, we can face tomorrow. You hold our future and there is nothing that you cannot do for those who love you. Lord, help them to know without a doubt that this is true. Amen

The enemy of our soul works overtime to attempt to detour us from our time in the scriptures and prayer. It is what we need most, to be with him! Great article.

Thank you, souldoctor, I appreciate you stopping by. And you are so right that the enemy works overtime, escpecially in these days of evil, to discourage us and make us feel hopeless. With Christ, we always have reason to hope for a better future. That is why I tell people to read their bible. God will speak to your heart and show you that he is with you.

Hi Marianne,i give God thenks 4 this another opportunity to share this words 2 those that lyfe is difficult 2 them, thinking dhat God has 4gotten them,i am in difficult too bt i give thenks to God becoz he sees n watches me in these trials.am so encouraged to let them know dhat every setback can be a set up for their come back.If u discover the secret of praising God in every circumstance.
Isnt it wonderful to know dhat God promises alweiz lead us to victory? Thats means no matter what you are facing today,no matter wat is going on the world around you,no matter wat anybody says,u shld alweiz be thanking God becoz victory is alweiz on dha wei! u dont have to wait for everything to be perfect before u decide to celebrate what God is going to do in your lyfe. praise is putting action behind your faith in dha middle of that adversity or tough tyme, start makig a list of who u r going to invite to your victory celebration. Thats means if u r in hospital, start planning wat u r going to do when u get out. If u lost some money wen the stock market went down, start planning your coming-out-of-debt-party. When things dont look good in the natural, remember we serve a supernatural God. with God leading into victory,u can alweiz plan for increase, u can plan for restoration,u can plan for a comeback, and u can plan for a victory becoz he is leading & guiding u in jesus name. thenks so very much Marianne n May God bless u all.

What a totally awesome comment, David!! You have said it so well! Your words hit my heart and just gave me such joy. All that I have ever written you have said it perfectly in just a few words! You are right – we don’t have to wait until everything is perfect before we can celebrate what God is going to do for us. We know that he is going to do good things! We know because he keeps his promises. Everything that we have that is good is from him! Your words have motivated me, David. I think I am going to start a list right now for the victory party that I know God is getting ready to bestow on me.
God bless you, dear brother! You are a real treasure!

Marianne, yes, this world is truly a perishing world, where most people only think about their own agendas, while those who suffer and are abandoned continue to be forgotten. We must practice the character of God, which is to love unconditionally and serve others who most people don’t even want to acknowledge. thank you for being a strong believer and caring for others. God bless.
November 26, 2011 at 8:25 pm
Marianne Lordi
Hi Noel, Yes you are right in that in this perishing world, most are looking to satusy their own needs. But to those who belong to Christ, we have his love in our heart and we are compelled by that love to reach out to others. If we see a person in need and just say I’ll pray for you when we have the ability to help in other ways, are we any better than the heathens? It is the power of Christ that radiates through us so that there is none who are forgotten. The Lord kinows how to burden the hearts of his people to pray and help those who the world has just passed by. Stay in the faith, Noel!

My apartment overlooks a very large park on a rolling hill and I enjoy looking at the changes of the leaves. It reminds me that life is ever changing like nature and it reflects in our lives. Marie.

Hi Marie, so nice to hear from you. I have missed you!
Yes, I too love the changing leaves and all the beautiful colors of fall. I do still wish that the leaves would stay ON the tree, though!
But one thing we do know through it all and that is that God’s love never changes. His mercy is constant and his grace is sufficient for all of our needs. That is the truth I cling to. I couldn’t do a thing if I didn’t know that God was with me!
I still pray for you, Marie. You have just grown so much despite all you have been through.

Ministry Addict
Very encouraging post.
“Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith OF JESUS CHRIST, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.” (Galatians 2:16, emphasis added)
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith OF THE SON OF GOD, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20 , emphasis added)
Many people vainly seek strength in their own faith, and are discouraged when they are lacking. Others point to once-faithful Christians and pronounce them rejected of God due to a perceived lack of faithfulness in their lives. Jesus Christ is the only One Who is truly 100% faithful, and because of His unchanging, unwavering, unyielding faithfulness, those whom He graciously saves are kept eternally secure.

Hi Ministry Addict, thanks for visiting and for your great comments. You are so right that many people seek strength in their own faith. I can confess that at one time I did that. I could never live up to what I thought I should be. It was in surrendering all my weaknesses and my will to Christ that I got the peace that I needed to know that HE was doing his work through me. It wasn’t my righteousness but HIS! I only need to allow him to guide and direct my path. Now, even when I don’t understand why I must take a certain course or suffer in a situation, I just leave it at his feet. I don’t have to understand his way. I just have to kinow my God and believe that he is all that he says he is! I CAN do ALL things through Christ because he IS my strength,
God bless you, brother. I always appreciate your wisdom and imput in my messages.

Hi Rosemary, I am sorry that you feel so hopeless with all your trials. Life is hard and in these dark times it just keeps getting worse. However, I just want you to know that you are feeling condemned because you are listening to the lies of the enemy. Are you reading your bible everyday? You need the truth from God’s word to keep you from giving in to the schemes of the devil. We are all struggling in some way in our lives. Those who belong to Christ have nothing to fear. Although you may have storms in your life, God is working them all out and he will use them for your good. Your impossible situations are not too hard fo rhim to handle. You must keep your eyes on him even when you grow weary in the battle.
Rosemary, I will be praying for you each night. I know you just don’t see an end in site but there is a time set for every struggle you face if you belong to Christ. Keep trusting and believing. Don’t magnify your problems over the power of your God! God has not gone anywhere. He sees you right where you are and he has a plan to help you. Don’t get discouraged for your God is more than able. Surrender all of your pain and weaknesses to him.
I think you should read over Psalm 91. It is a promise from God to help us in our need. In verse 11 we read, “For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone”. Verse 14 has the LORD saying, “Because he loves me, says the LORD, I will rescue him”. There are so many Scriptures in God’s word that give us hope no matter what we are facing. I have memorized 2 Timothy 1:12 myself and I repeat it when I start feeling overwhelmed. It says, ” For I know whom I have believed and I am convinced that he(God) is able to guard (take care of, handle, make a way ) all that I give to him for this day”. That says it all. If you know your God, you know is strength and you know he won’t fail you.
I will keep praying for you, Rosemary. Email me anytime you want to talk Read your bible everyday. And when the enemy starts giving you his lies, shout out God’s promises! That will make the devil flle.
God bless you,dear sister.

Hi Marianne,
I loved the way you spoke of the various seasons, and opening the discussion with the beautiful scenery in your backyard. That was awesome! As we go through the various seasons of our lives, sometimes we go through seasons of suffering and pain. But I thank God for you explaining to us so vividly the faithfulness of God! Even in the midst of our stormy weather, God is there. I’m so grateful that He will never leave us, nor will He forsake us. Praise God! He is an ever present help in the time of trouble. He is our refuge! Glory to His precious name! Your post was so encouraging to me tonight. I praise God for you and your faithfulness! May the Lord pour out of His spirit on to you, in good measure! Have a blessed night.

Marianne Lordi
Hi Paulette, Thank you for your kind words and for the gift of your friendship. I believe that God brings people into our lives to help encourage us in the struggles that we face – and that is what you do! God is with us in every step of our battles in this life. I try never to let my trials dictate my future because I know that Christ is true to his promises. Does anyone truly believe that Jesus shed his blood for our redemption only to allow some problem the ability to destroy us? It will never happen.
I take to heart what David from Kenya said above that we don’t have to wait until things are perfect to decide to celebrate what God is going to do in our lives. He said that in the middle of our adversity, we should make a list of who will will invite to our victory celebration! Now that is the kind of faith that takes God at his word!
Plan for your victory, Paulette! God keeps his promises!

“Take time to read your bible every single day. Let God’s truth be your armor that keeps you trusting in him despite your problems.”
This is a reminder we all need Marianne. Sometimes the seasons of our lives leave us so busy that we feel that we can’t make time to read our Bibles and spend time with God, and that there’s simply too much to do. And then we wonder why we seem so out of focus and distant from God. Or why the world’s values seem to creep into our lives more and more. It’s a cycle that keeps going until God uses His own methods to draw us back. I know this happens in my own experience.
Thank you for the ministry you have here Marianne. There is always great comfort and great truth to be found here. God bless you and the wonderful work you do here 🙂

Hi Joe, thank you for visitng and for commenting. I always appreciate when you stop by and add to the message.
When we get too busy to read our bible or to pray as we should, the enemy uses that opportunity to attack us and our families. That is why I keep reminding everyone to read their bible and let the truth of God’s promises fill their heart. When the devil starts his schemes, you will have the word of God as your armor.
I hope you and your wife are doing well. How are things going? I keep you still in prayer.

Greetings Marianne; I read your post several days ago and read down through the responses to your blog. There was nothing that I could add or say to improve upon your counsel to those who seek comfort from your ministry. I was on active duty in the Ohio National Guard during the blizzard of 1978 and my wife was in the University Hospital at Columbus going through brain surgery to learn why she had lost her vision. They discovered that her optic nerve was dead and offered no hope for her vision to return. I’ll not go into all the awards and degrees that she has earned since those days after she finished college to be named as “OUTSTANDING PSYCHOLOGY STUDENT OF THE YEAR” at one of the leading private universites. I will say that Jesus is still in the healing business and he still don’t recognize that which is dead as an obstacle. That was a hard winter but as God promised Noah, “SUMMER AND WINTER SHALL NOT CEASE,” but we will have all seasons until he returns to take us home.
THE WINTER OF LIFE
by
Rev. Bill York
My quiver is empty; I’ve laid down my bow
The flames have all faded; the embers are low
The flaps are tied down against bitter cold
Brown grasses are standing where flowers did grow
My pony is weary; unable to stand
Look not on my face; just let go of my hand
I have cast down the lance; I have ended the strife
Let me enter with courage the winter of life
The petals have fallen; the nectar is gone
Where once I led many, I travel alone
Through paths steep and barren; now covered with snow
Brown grasses are leaning where flowers did grow
My trail has near ended; my journey complete
With fingers now gnarled; with shuffling feet
I search for the pathway; that I used to know
Gone are the grasses where flowers did grow
The drums have grown silent; the rivers run weak
Caress not my forehead; kiss not my cheek
The once mighty oak; has now had to bend
I’ll weep with the willow; I’ll wail with the wind
Till the grasses grow tall; till the flowers return
Till the flames of my campfire; again starts to burn
Till my pony is running; through pastures now green
Where flowers are blooming; and Waters run clean
I’ll wink with the stars; I’ll shine like the sun
I’ll ride on sweet zephyrs; in life just begun
Where children are dancing; and no one’s alone
A new day is dawning; and winter is gone

Rev. York, I absolutely cried when I read your poem! What a gift you have to touch the hearts of people with such beauty! In your words, I read past the battles of this life as we fight the good fight until we can do no more. But then, we have the hope of a new life with Christ. With all his power and strength, we will be renewed as when we were younger. He has promised to make all things new. He has said that he carries his reward with him for those who are faithful to trust him. We have reason for joy! We are children of the King and co-heirs in training to reign with Christ forever. All of our struggles are working out a greater good! We have never been forgotten. We have no need to fear. We cannot be crushed nor can we ever be destroyed. We are royalty in a kingdom that will never end. The struggles of winter merely lead us to the promise of spring and a time of renewal. Our path is set. We have reason for hope.
God bless you, my dear friend! You never cease to amaze me with your God-given talent. You are a blessing in my life and a treasure as a friend and mentor. I am thankful for you!

Marianne,
You have such a wonderful way with words, yet you remain true to the Scriptures. You seem to have a wonderful gift of encouragement. Never relent this gift or the work for which God has called you.
I am thankful for you dear sister. It has been a pleasure and a privilege to do the work of the ministry with you.
Your message above reminds me of Romans 8:28-29. The reason that we struggle with “counting it all joy” while we are in trials is because we do not fully embrace 8:28-29 and spend so little time in true passionate prayer. Too many just don’t want to be with God and God alone. I too am often deeply burdened.
Peace and blessings in Christ.

Thank you for your inspiring note. I had lost everything but turned to God and asked to be saved. But my girlfriend held all of my past losses together and I felt safety and comfort in the world
Last Tuesday I lost her as well. I’ve been praying daily asking God to tell me where to go in my life. I have a backpack, live im a homeless shelter and God. That’s it. What would you do if you were me?

Hi my friend, In your list of what you have in your life, you said that you have God. Therefore, you have everything you need. Everything else doesn’t matter. I know that you are going through uncertain times and loneliness. God has you in his full view. You will make it because the power of Christ that is in you will lead you on the right path and to victory. It is hard now and you may be growing weary. I pray that you will keep your eyes on Christ and trust through faith that he is more than able to meet all of your needs. Oned thing I always remind people and that is to never let your problems be bigger than your God! Our God has authority over all that we face and endure in this life as beleivers. I will be praying for you, dear friend. Do you have a good bible? You must stay in the word and let the truth of God’s promises fill you so that when the enemy attacks, you can take your stand and remain standing. God has his legions of angels surrounding you now. He is not going to let you be destroyed. Read the word, stay in prayer and I know that God will guide your steps.
Please keep in contact with me so I know how you are doing. I will keep you in prayer every night. You can email me to talk confidentially. Be strong, my brother, God’s plans for your life are always greater than the trials that you face!

Dearest Marianne,
Happy New year to you and yours. I’m here today to testify to the goodness of our God. Since I have been led by the Holy Spirit to you, you have gotten to know my struggles and encouraged me in battles and prayed for and with me, for that I’ll always be thankful. I will therefore ask you to help me give Glory and Honor to God for renewing my life and giving me a hope for the future that he promised us. I have received and enjoying many blessings and breakthroughs from God. He has indeed opened the doors of Heaven and poured such a blessing that has helped me put on a new man.
The greatest blessing of them all is that I have been overtaken by the spirit of Prayer and worship. I’m encouraged to pray and worship all the time, something I found hard to do for many years. I used to wait until I needed God to pray but now my heart constantly cries out to God in prayer, praise and worship. I just can’t do without prayer, I cannot do without worship and there is no feeling like it. It’s the arm of God resting upon me and I’m so thankful to God. I’m enjoying great health and the peace I feel in my heart is like nothing I have ever felt before. Satan has been silenced in my life and I’m so stable now. Like I said before, the greatest gift I have ever received from the Lord is the gift of persistent prayer and Worship which makes me feel so blessed. I wish the same for every believer because it takes away fear, worry and other forms of depression. Through constant prayer, I feel like I’m indeed under God’s mighty wings. I feel safe, I’m happy, I’m at peace, I’m God’s blessed. Join me in returning the Glory and Honor to God, in Jesus’ name!
Stay Blessed my sister in Christ. Happy 2012 once again.

Hi Zainab! I am so glad to hear from you again. I will join with you in thanking our God for his faithfulness to his promises! Keep up your communication and prayer to God, dear friend. He knows where you are and what you need. He is never going to fail you. Whenever you grow weary and start doubting, remember the times that he has taken you through and all the good that he has given you. This earth is not heaven and we will have problems now. But God has promised us that he would be with us in every single one of them. Never forget that you are in the family of Christ and that his power reigns in you. Every battle is fought by his power and his angels are given watch over you. You will never be alone and never without help. All things are possible for the God who created us and who has authority over all things that we face.
I will keep praying for you, dear friend. I thank God for you and for all that he has done for you and through you. Stay in the peace that Christ died to give you. God bless you always!!!

A paz do Senhor,Mariane!

I thank you for that reminder, Debra. Sometimes in the battle, you feel weary and have a difficult time feeling like a conqueror. But God’s word has told us that those who belong to him shall always have the victory so I believe him. You are so kind to always encourage me, Debra. I really appreciate you!

We all go through our own wilderness experience, but God’s promises are sure and he is able. Keep trusting. We need the prayers of each other.

This is very inspiring. I have had my fair share of trials, troubles, tests and even temptations. I have been doubly bereaved over a period of 5 months ( my brother first then my sister). It’s been tough. But I know this for sure, the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases. I will bounce back again. He has seen me through worse situations. The gates of hell shall never prevail. Thank you Marianne. I didn’t just stumble across this piece. I believe that God led me to it for a Divine reason. Weeping may tarry for the night but joy sure comes in the morning. Remain blessed.

Hi Ade, I am glad you stopped and I am sure God led you here to give you a message. The words I write are given to me by him so I always pray that he leads those for whom he has this message.
If you are in Christ, we are told that we would suffer for him. It will not always be easy for us and at times may seem overwhelming. But we serve a God who is in complete control. He has ordained our path and has guaranteed our future. He knows that nothing we face has the power to destroy us. Anything he allows has the power ot lift us up and strengthen us for having gone through the trials in life. For that reason, you are so rihgt to say that you will bounce back from your struggles. You will overcome them and you will benefit from them as God causes ALL things to be used for our good. God does not change nor does his promises to us ever fail.
Whatever you are going through, Ade, I pray that you will take comfort knowing that God is very near to you and that he is working out a divine, deliberate, eternal purpose in your life. Our trials are temporary. Our destiny in heaven is eternal. We can’t lose. Hold on in the battle, my friend. You are nearer to the victory than you know. I will keep you in prayer. You are never alone in any battle you face.
Be strong and let God do his work. I am here if you ever want to email me to talk. God bless you!
