Knowing that God will rescue you
Where is God in all of our struggles? We are living in unbelievably difficult days and it does not appear to be getting any better. Trying to hold on in faith while the darkness surrounds our situation can literally seem impossible. In our finite minds, it doesn’t make sense that God appears to wait so long to come to our rescue.
The pain of a trial in life can be overwhelming. A troubled marriage can turn your life upside down. Financial problems seem to have no end in sight. A serious illness can interrupt your life in a big way. Addictions to alcohol, drugs, pornography or any bondage can bring total havoc in your life. There are just too many problems to deal with as utter darkness covers the earth. Where is the peace that surpasses understanding that Jesus promised us believers? Sometimes it may take all the effort you have just to get out of bed in the morning and face life. Without a doubt, we are living in troubling times. So what can we do?
We are told in God’s word that then enemy prowls around like a roaring lion looking to devour you. He is seeking to kill, steal and destroy all that you have. But, the truth is that the enemy cannot take anything from one whose faith is in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross. All that he can do is convince you of a lie that his power to destroy you is bigger than God’s power to rescue you. You must remember that the tomb could not hold back the Holy Spirit’s power to raise Christ from the dead and that same power is living in you! For that reason, you cannot be defeated no matter how wounded you are in the battle you are fighting. Christ has conquered death and the power of evil. Though the enemy can wage war all around you, you will not be a casualty of a battle that has already been won. Don’t look at your circumstances – look at your God! Our weakness comes when we take our eyes off the Source of our power. Jesus does not take cover in the attacks of the enemy. He is our fortress and a very present help to us. The weary can find safety in his shadow and experience peace in his never-ending love.
By knowing and understanding the God you serve, you are able to rest and trust him to get you through the storm. If Jesus tells us to take joy despite our problems, he must have a way for us to do so. We know by all that is true that God cannot lie. In every one of our troubles, God is present and working them out. You don’t have to feel him or see him working to know that he is causing all things to be used for your good. It is by faith, which is greater than silver or gold, that we trust despite our pain. My friends, you must understand that while this earth is not heaven, it is here that God is getting us ready to be royalty in a glorious place that will never end! It is difficult to endure the hardships that surround us each day, but it is not impossible. The sacrifice of Jesus on the cross gave us hope that our future is secure. If he has the hairs on your head numbered, he surely is not going to forget to help you when you need him. In his timing, you will understand that he never left you for one second! The Apostle Peter took his eyes off of Jesus when he was walking on the water and began to sink. But understand this – JESUS NEVER TOOK HIS EYES OFF OF PETER! Jesus was able to lift Peter up from the sea because his power did not cease even when Peter doubted him.
God’s love and power for you are real. If you are struggling it is because you are listening to the lies of the enemy and have taken your eyes from Christ. I know that your financial problems are real and that your marriage may be in serious trouble. All that I am saying is that God is not going to fail you. You may think he is not with you now in your pain but the truth is that he is. Even in your fear and weakness, he is not going to abandon you. His love is just so amazing that it will meet you wherever you are. He knows how to lift you from your sea of trouble and he will not let you drown. God can make a way even when there is none.
Let the amazing love that Christ has for you be your strength in the battle you are facing. Get into his word and let him fill you will the knowledge of his power so that you will not be afraid of what the future holds for you. The words that God gave to his people long ago are for you today: “For I am the LORD, your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you”. (Isaiah 41:13)

Thank you so very much Marianne for these reassuring words. Jesus said that there would come a tme when he would shake everything that could be shaken. It all has to do with separating the wheat from the chaff, therefore there is no one who shall not be shaken at some point. America is going through the most dangerous time of her history, and because of the extreme hardship, many bad decisions are being made by some really smart people. Those decisions affect all our lives in terrible ways that cause many to faint in their faith. Sometimes those decisions are made by someone whom we trusted and admired, abruptly ending longtime friendships and relationships. It is good to know that we can always trust Jesus on this journey…..and he has a Marianne stationed here and there to cheer us on.

Hi Rev. York, I am always glad when you show up! I think you are so right when you say that God is now seperating the wheat from the chaff as all of us are experiencing the ground shake in some area of our lives. There is just so much darkness in this world now that if I did not have the light of Christ in me, I would not be able to see my next step!
I thank God that you also are so ready to bring out the truth while so many are perishing. You are and remain a blessing to me.

Thank you Marianne for the uplifting message…Happy new year! I have found that many times, againist all the faith within us, we cannot help to question God’s promise of love for us because of the seemingly unanswered prayers and unceasing suffering. I guess it takes unwavering faith that one still hopes to see God’s love at the last minute of their darkest hour. I have however been so inspired by the faith shown by most citizens of Haiti who despite gazing at the devastation around them, they still raise their hands to the Heavens and praise the Lord. My solution to life’s difficulties is to surrender all in prayer and wait on God however hard and trying the waiting is. Thank you again for work uplifting messages and may God bless you and yours.

Hi Zainab, nice to hear from you again. It is hard to keep the faith sometimes when your world is crashing in all around you. The secret to standing your ground is to know the God whom you serve. Once you can grasp how wide and deep and long his love is for you, you can understand that he will not fail you. He has power over all things so nothing is impossible in your life. He already knows what you need and the very character of God says that he cannot withhold from you anything that is good. He will meet you in your storm and take you to safety. You just need to wait for him to work it out for you in a way that will not only be good for you while on this earth, but will earn for you treasures in heaven that will never be destroyed. All things will serve the purpose for which God has allowed. He will work out your struggle.
God bless you, my friend, as you hold on to the Promise that never fails!

Hi Marianne,
I really like the way you write and express the truth of God’s love. Your words are very encouraging. Incidentally I wrote a post which somewhat relates to what you have said here but with a different slant. I was pointing to the fact that in our day people tend to only look at increases in health, wealth and prosperity as blessings but in actual fact persuctions and trials are also a source of blessing. The scripture says through much tribulation must we enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. The scriptures also say that our faith is greater in weight than refined gold hence the reason why griefs and trials come our way so that our faith may be proved genuine and result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.
Keep up the good work,
In Christ

Hi Henry, I so agree with what you said. Our trials and tribulations are the tools that God is using to mold us into the image of Christ and they are actually building our strength to stand against the enemy. We can only grow in trials.
I think my message deals mostly with trusting that God is not going to let your struggle destroy you. His purpose will be fulfilled in each trial that he allows in the life of a believer. Sometimes people can grow weary in the struggle and sometimes think that God does not care. I believe that in these dark days, Satan has geared up the forces of hell to take down believers with his lies that God is not able to heal sickness, or restore marriages, help with finances or break bondages etc. Nothing is impossible with God. Whatever is good, he will provide.
So I think that both of our messages are actually giving the same thought.
Thanks for stopping by,Henry. I enjoy your site so much.

Good morning. This is a truth that we must give diligence to keep in remembrance. The world and all of its complexities are continually in front of us while the things that are everlasting must be adhered to by faith. It’s so easy to let what we see obscure what we know for a time. Yet God is faithful and never leaves us when we are struggling with something. Without a doubt the trial of our faith works patience and adds to our ongoing testimony of Jesus in this world.
Blessings always in Jesus name.

Hi timbob, always nice to hear from you! You are so right to say that it is easy to let what we see obscure what we know to be true. Difficult times can bring us to our knees but knowing that God is with us and will take us through them is what gives us all hope. And I like the way you said it,
“This is a truth that we must give dilegence in remembrance” Exactly right! Thanks again for stopping by.

Hi! There can be several reasons why we are going through what we are – but I think ultimately the trials are to push us closer to God – for some it turns them away to look to their own strength – but the hard times are there to draw us to Him.

Hi Rachel, always good when you visit. I agree with you that trials ultimately are allowed to bring us closer to God. That is why I wrote this message. So many times, people feel that God has forgotten them in a trial or struggle. That could not be further from the truth. God is close to the brokenhearted and his power is made strong in their weakness. This is just a reminder that in ALL things, God is working something out so much greater that your mind cannot conceive it. In the storm, you must trust that your God is bigger = because he is!

Hi Marianne,
Thanks you so much for once again enlightening my mind on the difficulties I am facing. When I gave in to temptation yesterday, I was really worried and afraid that the dark days of porn addiction is gonna come back. But thanks to your prayers and advice, so far I did not even feel any urge to view any porn, and even if i did, I know that God will strengthen me this time (once again thanks to your prayers)
I am just hoping that this time i would be able to fight these temptations not just for 7 months, but for the rest of my life. If ever God would destine me for that special girl i have been talking to you about and in someway bring her back to my life, I want to be the best I can be for her, and not just a porn addict…
Sorry If i’m very talkative, it is just that I don’t know any person whom I can tell my worries without judging me aside from you.. Thanks again Marianne!!

Dear Renz, I am glad to hear from you as always. I am happy to see that you are taking your struggle to God day by day and trusting him to keep you from falling. He is more than able to give you the strength that you need if you call upon him. He knows your weakness, Renz, and he knows how to equip you for this battle. Stay in his word! That is the most powerful thing you can do. We all have areas that we are weak in. No one is exempt from the taunts of the enemy. But in our areas that we struggle in, we must surrender it all to God and his power. If you could see with spiritual eyes, you would see that the army of the living God has his angels surrounding you in full force! Don’t let the lie of the enemy convince you that you are alone in this battle for you are not nor will you ever be. For that reason, the Apostle Paul said that we must keep up the good fight! While we by ourselves have no power to overcome the temptation of the enemy, we have the power that raised Christ from the dead living in us- the Holy Spirit. His power is over all things! Stand your ground, Renz, and know your God and his strength. I am praying for you to know that all I have just said is the truth! If you are in Christ, the power to be set free from all bondages is with you! Walk in that victory. I am praying for you.

Hi John, I am glad that you stopped by here so that I can add you to my prayer list. Everyday I pray for those who come to my site so that God can give them a message of hope.
I want you to remember that God knows where you are and it does not matter that your situation is impossible for you. It is never impossible for God who will make a way where there is none. If you can keep your eyes on Christ despite your struggle, he will use this time to do great things for you. You must trust even when your strength and your reason fail you! It is what sets you apart from the rest of the world. We are all being attacked now for the days are growing short. I am telling you with all the conviction that God has given me that you will come through this battle victoriously if you stand in faith! That may sound simplistic but it is the truth. You cannot be taken down and you can never be destroyed by the attacks of this world. Even the enemy knows that all of our trials are actually earning a glory so far greater that our minds cannot contain it. Everyone who belongs to Christ faces a crisis of belief at some time in our lives. You have a choice to decide whom you will believe – the enemy and his lies, or your God and his power! Choose to believe the God who created you and everything here and in the heavens. Surely he can reach down and help you!
John, as hard as it may be for you now, I pray that you will fill yourself with the word of God daily. It is only in knowing the truth that you can understand that your struggle will never be bigger than your God! I am going through a painful trial in my life also. But I have come too far and have seen so much of what God has done for me to ever start doubting him now. I know somehow that you believe that in your life too.
I will be lifting you up every single night until you tell me the situation has been resolved. You are never alone in your pain and you never will be. The major point I bring out in all of my messages is this: God has a perfect plan for your life and nothing and no one can stop it! If God is allowing something in your life, trust him to work it out for your good. He won’t fail you, John! Keep in touch. I will be praying!

Hi Henry, thank you for encouraging me! I really appreciate your kind words. A lot of people think that because of what I write that I have it all together. The truth is that I am going through a painful time in my life and it is in taking each day as it comes and trusting in God to see me through that I can write and encourage others. Not that I am comparing myself to the Apostle Paul, but he did write his most powerful messages while he was shackled in a dungeon prison and after being beaten almost to death. Trials will bring out God’s glory if we keep our eyes on him in our pain. I could use your prayers!

Hi Melena, I am so glad that you stopped here because I will now commit to pray for you each night as I do the other prayer requests on my site. These words that I wrote were given to me by inspiration of God. Everything I write about is something he has taken me through and this truth is here for you also.
I will be praying that all goes well with the lumpectomy. Remember that God is able to heal no matter what happens. Most of these surgeries go quite well with great results. I am an x-ray technologist and have worked in a hospital for years previously. It is always scary to go through these procedures but I just know that you are going to be fine. I am praying that the peace of God will be with you and keep you strong. The enemy always wants you to focus on what can happen instead of what God can do! He wants you to forget that your God is bigger than anything that comes against you! Don’t let him have access to your mind, Melena. Keep your faith and know that Christ died to give you victory in your life if your trust is in him. Nothing is going to happen to you apart from God’s perfect will for your life – so trust him!
Please stop back and let me know how you are. I will be praying every single night for you and I know that God hears. Stay in his peace and don’t borrow tomorrow’s problems. Remember in the bible when Peter was walking on the water toward Jesus. He did well until he took his eyes off of Christ and put them on the wind and the waves that were swirling all around him. Those things had no power to take him down. It was Peter’s fear that made him sink. Don’t empower your problems because they have no power to destroy a true child of God! See your God for who he is. Keep your eyes on Jesus – He is NOT going to fail you.
You are not alone, Melena, and I will be praying!!!!

Hi Moses,
First of all, let me say that I am so sorry for your struggle and I know what that is like. I have been there and I am currently going through financial problems also. IWhen I wrote this article, I didn’t know that two years later I would be dealing with a divorce. My whole life changed and I felt alone. The truth is that I was NOT alone. My problems didn’t mean that God was not with me. It simply meant that I had to trust him more than ever. Jesus doesn’t go off into the distance when you are facing financial problems. If you made Christ your Savior, He is there with you right now and working out His plan for your life even though it seems like you are alone. If you still are letting fear control your life because it doesn’t seem like Christ is working fast enough in your life, then stop what you are doing and ask His help with your unbelief. I mean go to God and seek His help in your weakness. Every day I am learning to take my thoughts captive to the obedience of Christ. I remember that all I have comes from the hand of God. The small number of investments I have are losing money each day in the market. When I start to get anxious I remember that God has full authority over my finances. For me to fear losing everything is to give power to money and not to God. He owns it all.
Moses, I know it is not easy to keep the faith when you don’t have a job and you are out of other options. I am telling you that if you ever wanted to show that you have faith that pleases God, now would be the time. He sees where you are. He knows your heart and the fears you are dealing with. If you have done all that you could, then this battle belongs to the Lord. Stay in prayer and the word of God. It is the only place to find real peace and the guidance ad strength you need while you wait. You won’t always have this struggle. Trust and believe that Christ is all you need and then leave it in his hands. I am praying for you now and will continue to pray for you. I understand your uncertainty but I now the power of God. He will help you. You can email me anytime you need to talk. You are never alone.
